Our Wedding

Our story goes back nine years to a classroom at The Hun School of Princeton. Between AP Psychology lectures and a first date in Princeton, it didn't take long to figure out we had a good thing going. Even when Chris headed off to college a year before Julia, we stayed inseparable, navigating the first of many transitions that would eventually bring us to our wedding day..The next four years were a whirlwind of PA road trips and weekend reunions. Whether Chris visited to dance the night away at a sorority party or Julia traveling to cheer the loudest as Chris played for the basketball team, we never missed a chance to be part of each other’s new worlds. We spent these four years growing up together, making every mile between our schools worth the drive..If there were a degree in long-distance relationships, we'd have graduated with honours. Going from high school sweethearts to a long-distance couple across the Atlantic was no small feat. Between 10 months of pandemic separation and the year Julia spent in Charlotte while Chris was in Luxembourg, our relationship basically lived on FaceTime. Daily calls, virtual date nights, whatever it took, we found creative ways to stay together while being thousands of miles apart. It wasn't always easy, but it made finally being in the same time zone feel that much sweeter..Nine years later, we’ve finally traded FaceTime calls for a shared home and a life full of quality time. These days, you can find Chris still hitting the court playing professional basketball, while Julia spends her time leading the pack as a spin instructor. The true star of the show, however, is Daisy, our ruby Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and the literal light of our lives. Whether we’re exploring Europe or the US, we’ve traded "distance" for "discovery," and we couldn't be happier to start this next chapter as a family of three.

Our Story

About the Venue

Situated on top of a rock in the valley of the river ‘L’homme’, the castle dominates the village of Mirwart. The chronique of the abbey of Saint-Hubert mentions the first real stronghold being built in 955. The lords of Mirwart were the solicitors of the abbey from the 8th century to the last quarter of the XVII century. The castle has known a turbulent history. We look forward to celebrating in style with you.-For Women: Color is encouraged, but please refrain from shades of white and light blue to avoid contrast with the bridal party. We recommend floor-length evening gowns or elegant midi-length dresses. We kindly ask that you avoid hemlines above the knee to maintain a formal atmosphere. Please keep the historic grounds in mind when choosing your footwear.-For Men: Black tuxedos with bow ties are welcomed and preferred. Alternatively, a well-tailored black suit with a formal tie is perfectly acceptable.
